For two years, HeyDividend AI answered one question at a time. It was fast and it was honest, but it had the memory of a goldfish and the patience of a calculator. Today we're shipping 2.0 — a multi-agent system that plans before it answers, researches across our entire data lake, and remembers what you asked last week.

This is the biggest change to the product since we launched. If you've ever typed a question, gotten a decent answer, and then had to re-explain your whole portfolio to ask the obvious follow-up, this release is for you.

The problem with single-shot answers

A good dividend question is rarely one question. "Is my income safe?" really means: which of my holdings have weak coverage, which have cut before, which are concentrated in one sector, and what would happen to my monthly cash flow if the two riskiest ones halved their payout. Answering that well takes several steps — and a model that tries to do it all in a single pass either rushes or hallucinates.

Version 1 handled the easy 80%. Version 2 is built for the hard 20% — the questions that actually change what you do next.

A multi-agent system

Under the hood, 2.0 breaks a request into a short plan, then dispatches specialized agents to carry it out. One agent pulls dividend history and forward rates; another runs reliability and NAV-erosion checks; another reads the latest news and filings for the tickers in scope. A coordinator stitches the findings into one answer and shows its work.

• Plan: the model decides what it actually needs before touching data.
• Research: agents query our unified dividends, prices, and fundamentals tables in parallel.
• Synthesize: results are reconciled, conflicts flagged, and numbers double-checked against the source tables.

Persistent memory

2.0 remembers. It knows your holdings, the questions you tend to ask, and the preferences you've stated — so you can say "what about the other one?" and it knows which one. Memory is scoped to your account, never sold, and you can clear it anytime from Settings.

The goal isn't a chatbot that sounds smart. It's an analyst that picks up where you left off.
